4 months!

Happy 4 months Maddux Rockett (a few days late! Oops!). We love you very much and we love watching you grow and change everyday. We took you to the Dr this week and you weigh almost exactly 14 pounds. You were 13 pounds, 15 and 3/4 ounces so we will just round up to 14. You were in the 25th percentile for weight so you aren't as chunky monkey as we thought you would be. You are 25 and 3/4 inches long which puts you int he 80th percentile! I think you are going to be like your daddy, tall and skinny.
This month you have gotten really good at rolling over and like to do it as a game. You roll over and Daddy flips you back over and you just smile so big. Ya'll do this over and over! You are also very bad about rolling over when I am trying to change your diaper. As soon as i get your diaper off you flop yourself over which makes it hard for me to clean your booty. I think you are a little stinker. You are also very interested in your hands and love to put them in your mouth. I feel like we are all the time taking them out of your mouth. You also love to grab MJ's hair. Anytime she gets anywhere close to you, you grab a big handful of her hair and don't let go. I guess it is your way of getting back at her for all the aggravating she does! Ha! She loves you so much and wants to be in your face ALL the time. We love you Bubby boy and look forward to watching you grow for years to come.

Lisa, 25 North Louisiana

So I will be totally KILLED for doing this but oh well! I can take a killing. Ha! I am linking up to Show Us Your Life on Kelly's Korner and this week it is show us you single friends. I am going to show Lisa my Best Friend for 12 years.

She is a 1st grade teacher in Ouachita Parish and does a great job. She loves kids more then anyone I know and truly loves her job. She is very family and friend oriented and loves to just hang out and have a good time. She is a Christian and wants a husband who loves the Lord.

She loves to be silly, watch movies and play board games with friends. She is very loyal and will do anything for anyone. She has never been married and is waiting for God to let the perfect guy "fall" in her lap. She is very outgoing but reserved at the same time so she will be "chawed" when she finds out I did this.

You can contact her at lisa.sims@live.com

I stole these pics off of her facebook page and that's why they are all different sizes.

Maddux's first swim!

We went to the pool this week and Maddux was wide awake so we decided to let him take a little swim with us. He wasn't ecstatic about it but he didn't scream either. He mainly just chewed on his hand the whole time. He wasn't a fan of the sun being in his eyes so we tried to keep him faced away. We let him swim for about 30 minutes and he shriveled up like a little raisin and was too precious. On another note, MJ wore floaties on her arms for the first time today and she did REALLY good swimming with them. I was so shocked because she swam all over by herself not wanting me to hold her. That is VERY uncharacteristic of her so I was thrilled.

Lisa, the kids and I were on our way to the Legends in Kansas when I thought I saw a gigantic dog in the back of a Honda Fit. Well, when we got closer I discovered it was not a dog but instead a horse! How random is that???? I think we have laughed about it everyday since then!

Matalie-olus

Matalie was pointing to her malleolus tonight and called it an ankle so I tried to teach her that it was a malleolus. In the process of teaching her how to say it, she ended up calling it Matalie-olus. Med school in her future? Hmmmmm......

Matalie (3 year) and Maddux (3 month) Pics

These are a few of my favorite pictures from our most recent photo shoot. We love Aubre our photographer!

July 4th Weekend

We had a great July 4th weekend! On Saturday we headed down to Kearney with the Branson's for some food, fireworks and fun. It rained the WHOLE time we were driving which was about an hour, so we just knew that we were going to be rained out. Thankfully it only sprinkled a little here and there for the first hour so we ended up having a great time. Matalie wasn't a fan of the big blow up bouncers but she did like the huge playground. All the kids were especially fond of the glow sticks, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and whatever else they could make. The firework show was awesome and we are definitely going back next year! Invite or not! Ha!

Sorry that picture is so bad but that was the best I could get of them wearing the glow sticks.

Sunday we made it to the 11 o'clock service at church and we were exhausted by the time we got home. We were suppose to be at some friends house at 2:30 but we ALL needed a nap. We finally got up and going around 4:30 and headed over to the Henk's for some more food, fun and fireworks. The kids had a great time on the slip and slide so a few of us adults decided to join. Some more willingly then others! And others were only held back becuase their wife didnt want to do their laundry. I dont have any pics of the adults on the slide but I did snag a few of Matalie Jule.

We had a great time celebrating the 4th of July but our soldiers were never far from my mind. It is a really sobering when you think about someone close to you being over there fighting. I am so thankful for the soldiers overseas and at home, but I am selfishly thankful that it isnt my husband, brothers or son over there. We are truly blessed to be Americans!
