Confessions of a Mommy

This week I most certainly did NOT lose all control over my impulses and decide that I HAD to pop a white head on Maddux's face. He most certainly did NOT try and squirm away from me like I was the plague. I did NOT enjoy getting a large amount of white substance out of that white head either. I mean, if I did enjoy it, what kind of sick mother would I be??

I most definitly did NOT consider putting a maxi pad in Matalie's panties yesterday when she kept having "squirts" in her panties everytime she farted. It would have NOT been much easier then changing her panties everytime she farted. And along that line, I did NOT tell her that she had to put all her farts in the potty today and not to just let them rip at random.

I have not lost my mind completely enough that yesterday while I was swimming did NOT remember that I needed to take my breastpads out once I was ALREADY in the pool. When we went to leave the pool, I may or may not have been stopped by my friend who was carrying my breastpads to the trash, to remind me that I had left them on the side of the pool. I am way too cool, calm and collected to do any of the above things.

Interior Design by Matalie Jule

Who knew that walls covered in bologna were the next big thing?? I certainly didn't and it may not be so, but Matalie sure did think it was a good idea.

Scootin' and Movin' lil man

Maddux has learned how to push himself from one side of his bed to the other while he pitches a screamin fit becuase he doesnt want to be all alone in his bed. Tonight was no different then any other night as far as the screaming and moving were concerned but he did manage to add a little excitement to his routine. Last time his teacher was here she gave us a DVD case with some black and white pictures in it for us to set up in Maddux's bed so that he would have something fun to look at. I guess Maddux decided to use it as a tunnel and put his body under instead of just using it for pretty scenery. He is such a hoot.

On another note, tonight was Maddux's first time in the nursery. We have VBS this week so he will have to go every night. I did get paged toward the end becuase he was mad and hungry. He had already eaten the bottle I sent for him adn the workers got a crack out of how fast he drank his bottle and how LOUD he burped. They said it shocked them that such a small person could have such a powerful burp!

1st Jet ski ride

I am so mad that I don't have video or pictures of MJ's first jet ski ride. Oh my word was it hilarious. That girl is scared of her own shadow so we should have known that she wouldn't be too thrilled about riding. To top things off, Jared apparently has no balance when getting on or off of the jet ski. After several attempts we were able to successfully get all 3 of us on the jet ski. We got about 200 yards out into the water and she started screaming "DONE! DONE!" and "Stop it Momma!" We turned around and headed back to shore and when we were getting ready to get off of the jet ski someone (I cant rightly say if it was Jared or not. Ha!) was really unbalanced and flipped us all 3 off. Fortunately, Jared was able to keep Matalie from going under water so that saved a complete meltdown. Oh the joys of a 3 year old!

Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to do a little post to say how much I appreciate my Dad and my kids Dad. I am so thankful to have a Dad who loves God and loves his family. As I have grown older it is much more evident that he is a minority. I appreciate all the sacrifices he made for us and most of all for living his life to mirror Christ's as best as he could. I definitly married a man like my dad. They are both hardworkers who love their family and God. I am so thankful that Matalie and Maddux will be able to have a Dad like I do. We are so blessed and don't take it for granted.I hope that one day Matalie will marry a man like Jared. We hope both of ya'll have a wonderful Father's day and know that we love ya'll very much!

Suprise! Well, almost.

Laliepop were going to try and surprise us by coming up for a visit but due to a death in their church it threw a little kink into their plans. They decided to come anyway and we are so glad they did. We had a great time with them and Matalie and Maddux love a visit from grandparents. They got in around 1am on Tuesday morning and they left about 5am on Friday. One of the main reasons they came was so that they could see Matalie tumble and they got to experience it to the full effect. Matalie had a little breakdown at first but after that she had fun.

Matalie and Maddux had a great time with Laliepop! We took a trip to the park and also just played around the house. We did go on a few shopping trips but the kids weren't totally thrilled about that. They would rather just stay home and read books.

Another fun option is to go to the park!

While we were out shopping at the mall, there was a train driving around the mall. Matalie saw it and HAD to ride it so I guess she talked Pop into it. I can't say for sure what happened because mom and I may or may not have been shopping for shoes while the men and kids stood outside. I cant rightly say. :)

We had a great time with Laliepop and look forward to getting to see them and Meme and Papaw again really soon!

Maddux Rolled over!

Our boy is growing way to fast! Today he mastered the art of rolling from his back to his belly. He screamed the whole time because he wanted to be held instead of laying on the floor but he survived. I got some video of him rolling over and he is screaming the whole time! That little stinker.I put his jumperoo together today for him to try it out and he loved it. He is still too small to jump but he loved looking at all the toys. Mainly he just liked not laying on the ground I think. :) I need to post about MJ's first tball practice and tumbling. She definitely likes tumbling alot more then she likes tball. Such a little girl. :) Pics of both are soon to follow.

Memorial Day Weekend

I know I am almost a week late on getting this post up but better late then never! We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Meme and Papaw got here on Saturday around lunch time and we headed to the Cheesecake factory for some "Lupper" and dessert. We actually at and then headed to Whole Foods to buy some gluten free groceries for Papaw. After we finished up at Whole Foods, we headed to the Apple store to look around and play. Jared and I played on the IPads while the Old Folks looked at IPhone accessories. I liked the IPad but I know that it would not last a week around this house without getting cracked or something of that sort! After we were done at the Apple store we headed back to the Cheesecake factory to pick up our dessert. I tried a new flavor cheesecake this time and it was YUMMY! I normally get the chocolate coconut one but this time I went for the red velvet cheesecake. Talk about blowing my diet! Actually, lets not talk about my diet.

Matalie fell asleep on the way home and as soon as we pulled up the ice cream truck came down our road. She immediately woke up and said to Meme and Papaw, "You hear the ice cream truck?". We have never gotten her any ice cream from the ice cream truck so of course Meme and Papaw thought that she needed some so off they went.

Sunday was also filled with lots of fun. We got up and headed to McAlisters for lunch. We were so excited to find out they opened one in Lees Summit!

Next we headed to Downtown Kansas City for Jiggle Jam. Matalie wasn't in much of a playful mood so we could have saved our $8/ticket and just walked around the mall and Union Station. The only thing she did at Jiggle Jam was played in the bubble tent for 5 minutes! We tried to put her in the water but she wasn't having it.

We had alot of fun in the mall and it was nice because it was cool unlike how it was outside! We went to the crayola store and they also had a free Clifford exhibit we went to for a few minutes.(Matalie never put her clothes back on after she played in the fountains so she walked around town the rest of the day in her swimsuit.)We bought a dry erase marker drawing pad from the crayola store with hopes that it will help Matalie learn to write her letters easier.

We stopped at the park on the way home so Matalie could burn off what little energy she had left. I think she was the only one with any energy left!

We had a fun and very busy weekend! We were so glad Meme and Papaw were able to come visit.
